We've had a sudden change in the weather; fall has arrived! It's cold!
The cool temperature and cold breeze chased us inside tonight, even though the sun was shining under a blue sky. Time to change the clothes I wear to go outside and I might even get out my gloves.
But we did sit in the cafeteria and go through the information on beds, mattresses, lifts and ramps that Mrs. F.G,. has gathered. We're now ready to finalize things with the vendor in Owen Sound and start getting things installed.
Although we've received good advice, you're still left sorting things out and arranging installation yourself. And we still don't have a final price.
It's been a good day. I'm still feeling good after Patsy and Bill dropped in to visit yesterday.
Yes we are cold too today. I was disappointed that it felt so much like fall. I sure hope that the things do go smoother as things are being done.
ReplyDeleteI saw your photo on Patsy’s blog, FG. You are looking great after such a tough year!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a lot of work getting the house ready but it will be so worth it when you get home FG.
It was a pleasure to have you stop in too!
DeleteI imagine the hottest days of summer are well behind us now.
ReplyDeleteSaw your photo on Patsy's blog; after all that time in hospital you certainly can use some sun even if it's cold. It must be really good to get outdoors after all that time inside. Don some winter clothes and go bask in the sun like a turtle on a log.
ReplyDeleteGreat to have you stop in. Doesn't he look great?
DeleteThis weekend here for us is to be humid again down this way right now at 9pm it is down to 15C not cold but refreshing after all the humidity we have been having this summer . I heard on the news weather that up north the temps tonight are to drop to a single digit BRR ! way to early for that kind of temps . That must of been nice for you to have your blogger friends visit I don't know of Patsy's blog but it was nice of them . Stay cozy and hope all goes well with the sorting out .
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to comment on some of your posts, and have been having problems. I want you to know that I have read them all. You have been through quite a trial. It is just amazing to see you back at it! You are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteIt is cold here too. We are having so many cool temperatures that it feels more like late September than late August. We also have had a lot of rain. That is ok with me. We had no snow last year, so we really need the moisture. Also the skies are thick with the smoke from the northwest fires. I stay inside because of the smoke because of breathing problems.
You have so many decisions to make. Those decisions are so hard because you don’t know what really works until you try them sometimes. We recently visited a medical supply store and were amazed at what one must know just to buy a lift chair. Do medical supply places come out just to talk to you and help you with decisions?
It is not feeling at all like fall here in central Texas. Still hitting 38 to 39 C most days. And didn't you look handsome on Patsy's blog!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you stopping by for a visit too. FG looks wonderful!
DeleteIt is all a bit overwhelming I'm sure. I don't know how I would have gotten things ready to bring Mom home without all the help from the rehab hospital. Because she was on Medicare in the States, many of the items were provided at no charge, including the hospital bed and a manual wheelchair. Other things that we wanted to make life a bit easier for both of us came at our expense. - Margy
ReplyDeleteWe are getting much cooler weather starting Friday. I'm looking forward to it. At times you don't get a lot of help. I'm sure you'll make the right decisions.
ReplyDeleteCold here this morning too, even though we are into spring. Bulbs are up,some flowering, some just pooping up green shoots, but the firewood is still getting used each day. Gloves, a great idea, and do you have some of those handy-dandy wheelchair ones? Or does someone do the pushing? I could not see if it had those rims for your hands, if you are able to do that at all? Again, you were looking great with Patsy, a great lift to me to see you out there. As always, I wonder at the many wonderful blog friendships across the miles or kilometres. Strong and true. ReplyDeleteCool here in the mornings. The acorns are dropping here so Fall is not far off:(
ReplyDeleteHello, it is cooler here too. The low humidity is much more bearable to be outside. I hope the decisions are not overbearing. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteYes it was quite chilly here too, Long pants for the first time, even wore my hoody most of the day outside.
ReplyDeleteThings are coming together for you and the house will soon be ready for you.
You, in long pants?!
DeleteCold weather already? As much as I find the heat and humidity here so uninspiring, I do not look forward to cold weather...just cooler.
ReplyDeleteIt's cooler here, too, but we still have some of the residual smoke that has kept us in the unhealthy range. I love the cooler weather! I also saw your picture over on Patsy's blog. It's wonderful to see you looking so good after such a terrible time. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit of a shock, isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteI went over and sent Bill and Patsy some love yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI wish it was cooling off here in Florida.
And we both appreciated your visit! :)
DeleteIt certainly was a cooler day, sent shivers to the timbers! By afternoon we sat outside without jackets and had to move to the shade. Mind you, we were near Leamington. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm very happy we were able to see you. Hello, Mrs. FG!
I prefer slightly cooler days. Here in the UK the temperatures have been dropping a little.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Our summer was cut short due to the smokey skies. I am missing the warm sunshine. Been busy packing for an upcoming move. Happy to see you are on the mend and making arrangement for your home living. I am sure you are looking forward to getting back home again.
ReplyDeleteIt's really nice here tonight (Thessalon), but we like it cool. Hope there will be an extended fall though, and that snow is still a long ways off!
ReplyDeleteGord.
It's a bit cooler here too. Bet it will sure be nice for you to get back home again.
ReplyDeleteYes the Seasons are slowly beginning to shift with night time temps noticeably cooler. I'm one of the ones liking the cooler weather too especially if physical things have to be done outside. I'm guessing with your reduced mobility you may now notice the cold more. With the body not generating extra heat through physical exertion you may find yourself having to dress a tad warmer.
