Sat. morning is time Mrs.F.G. and I can spend together with no therapy sessions scheduled. Today was a beautiful day here, so we headed downstairs on the elevator (I'm getting better at handling elevators).
We stopped in the coffee shop/cafeteria and picked up two coffees and two donuts. Maneuvered through the exit doors to the patio outside - sunny and warm. Then sat in the picnic shelter while we finished our coffees, surrounded by a foraging flock of House Sparrows. A good chance to just chat.
Presently we headed out to the further reaches of the garden, through a tunnel of bright yellow Cup Plants. The small fountain is always enjoyable. There's something special about the sound of running water.
Back to the main path we went and stopped by the raised beds to check for butterflies. No luck today. Then we realized what time it was and hurried back in. My lunch was getting cold. Shortly after Mrs. F.G. left for home. I just heard from her, 4.5 hours later.
The other day when she was here we went in search of the art studios for veterans. Amazing - three big studios for pottery, fabric and wood-working, all cluttered with projects, equipment and finished work. What great facilities!
What a wonderful day outside in the gardens with time along sounds pretty special.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a perfect day!
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of exploring to do! Keep on keeping on! We are all cheering for you! :)
ReplyDeleteTime goes by quickly when you'r having fun. Cold lunch is better than no lunch.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice to hear of Mrs. FG sojourn today and your time (precious time) spent together. Only 2 donuts?? Years ago when I attended many AA meetings most attention was directed to the person with the addiction. In most cases there was also a second person needing help, support, and understanding as well and that was the partner of the one afflicted. Too often these silent heroes go unnoticed and unmentioned. Next time you two get together......have an extra donut for me will ya:))
ReplyDeleteTime together with no appointments is very special. And those studio rooms, maybe some quilting soon? That new machine will be waiting for its turn. Maybe like mine down here, that is still hoping to get rewired soon. I long to be able to use it. Coffee and a donut, you are coming along "great guns" or whatever the saying is up North. Hope that little finger does not get RSI.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you get some time outside and that your skills continue to improve. Your typing's pretty amazing too.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you two had a wonderful day together. It must feel great to get out and sit in the garden again with Mrs. F.G. soon you will do that at home.
ReplyDeleteShe has a long drive home so good that she calls when she arrives. :)
Sounds like a lovely day for you and Mrs G. Happy Sunday, enjoy your day! Have a great new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteNice- how far does Mrs. FG have to drive to visit you?
ReplyDeleteNice visiting with Mrs. FG. A great way of loosing track of time.
ReplyDeleteBe Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Love to hear of your world traveling.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I should tell you some encouraging words but it seems you have decided to follow a positive vein which of course is what you should do----as you know.
ReplyDeleteKeep on keeping on as the young used to say

It sounds like there are lots of options where you are in rehab. That's so great, plus all the care and services you are receiving. - Margy
ReplyDeleteThat is a good way to spend some time.
ReplyDeleteYour temporary residence sounds like a lovely and delightful place, but I'm sure it will be good to get back home. If they'll let you out on a day of gentle rain perhaps you should visit the gardens then too -- a little variety is always good.
ReplyDeleteSo happy you had a nice day together.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are able to get out and about! And that the facility is so good for healing and continuing projects. So glad to hear from you, every day. :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear there are lovely gardens nearby that you can spend time in.
ReplyDeleteIt's great having visitors, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteSounds a nice time and a nice way to spend time together.
ReplyDeleteMy good wishes to you and Mrs. FG
All the best Jan
I was curious about the facility in which you are now residing. I found a short video on YouTube. Yes, YouTube has everything! I was blown away by the beauty of the surrounding gardens and of the vastness of the facility itself. Also, I saw the cafeteria, the studios where art was being made, and I saw a bowling alley, and all kinds of other marvelous aspects of this amazing place. It made me so happy to know that you had such a wonderful place to go to heal and to prepare to go home. Blessings.
