Cemetery Drive

Last year at this time, before going into hospital, I walked through the old Meaford Cemetery several times - a great place to go for a walk, with its easy hard-surfaced laneways.  After going out for breakfast Sat., we drove up there again and circled the roads.  I felt downright nostalgic!

Beech leaves are attractive the entire 8 months from fall to spring.

We drove down the entrance road, past quite a few of those Beech leaves on saplings in the woods.

 Snow capped the entrance pillars.

Out of the woods and into the main cemetery.  This seems to be a very well-maintained cemetery.

The big round but short cedars down the main lane accumulate big snow caps,

There's a small chapel near the entrance.

Driving out the entry road road you can see all the way across the bay to the Meaford Tank Range.

The entry road has got to be one of the nicest roads-through-the-woods I've seen.

  2. The snowcaps particularly draw my eye. Cemeteries really are quite peaceful, perhaps most of all at this time of the year.
