The Leaves Have Fallen (Almost)

It takes a brisk wind to bring down the last of the leaves as fall reaches its end.  And yesterday brought that wind, as a weather front went through.  We actually had a wind warning.  If you mark the end of the season by the end of fall colour, this is it.

The leaves are totally gone from our trees across the back.  The tree on the right, on the back corner of our neighbour's property, is the last one with leaves on.  But suddenly half of those are gone.

And here is that lone sugar Maple out on the golf course - compare this to the post on Monday last.

Soon our world will be grey tree trunks and branches silhouetted against the sky.  November is here.

  2. There is beauty in the bare limbs though that is masked with spring and summer leaves. - Margy

  3. The same conditions are in place in most of the trees here now. I think I took my last autumn shot on Sunday.

  6. Gone. Fast. I took November photos this week and I know we will soon see the mountains and not the leaves. Good idea you had to show the same shot from leaves to gone.

  9. It got down to freezing last night, for the first time this year. All the leaves are falling fast now. Many bare trees, but the occasional one that has held onto some leaves for awhile yet. :-)

  10. Lovely photos . The trees are for the best part bare but that didn't happen till after we had a frost that started them off falling like mad and then a few days of high winds but some trees are still hanging on to their leaves to . I heard on the weather channel possible snow fall over this weekend for up your way , that will make those bare trees look pretty to .

  12. The view onto the golf course is lovely leaves or no leaves on the trees. I bet there will be hardy golfers out there regardless of the weather.

  13. But then comes the snow and turns everything pretty again.

  14. We had that windy front come through here too also removing many leaves from area trees. It's nice for you to have that golf course view behind you instead of somebody else's backyard.
