It was so warm with the sun shining in my south-facing window yesterday that I left and moved to the north side of the house. Thus I caught the long winter shadows that I rarely see, slanted from west to east across the golf course.
It had been a bright blue sky day with constant sunshine, a rare enough event in December. But when evening came, just before sunset, the dark shadows were long and striking. I thought the pattern of shadows intersecting each other was fascinating.
Isn't it neat that the shadows are blue, much as the sky? I mean, you'd think white snow, shadow could just be grey! Nope, blue!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are beautiful. I don't mind the cold or snow if the sun is shining.
ReplyDeleteThose longer darker shadows, print it out on fabric for a bag or a quilt. Truly stunning with all that snow.
ReplyDeleteA sunny winter's day is so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat last shot is wonderful. Love those shadows.
ReplyDeleteOh what lovely blue sky photos. My husband (the Chef) died on Sunday night so not feeling very festive, but very best wishes to you and Mrs FG x
ReplyDeleteShadows are lovely but the blue sky against the white snow! (I used to want to be the first to walk in a clear smooth snowfall!) Hmm, I remember feeling the same way when we were stuck home in Paisley.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
