Continuing Snow

The snow hasn't stopped since last Thursday, so the plows have been out a lot!  But then the sun came out yesterday and we had a beautiful 2 hours.  I got out to my Thursday lunch and quite enjoyed it, though they pulled the transport van off the road at 2 o'clock, so I came home early.

This is Wednesday, after 5 straight days with at least some snowfall.  The snow stick is under that hump of snow on the left, beside the deck.

But Friday morning was glorious!  Bright sun and blue skies, though snow returned by the afternoon.

In the original snowstorm the snow had been blowing from the west, so the trees still had stripes of white.

And the shadows are back, though we are missing several ash trees that were cut down in the summer.

  1. I don't mind the snow. It's the ice underneath the snow and wind that I don't like.
    Pretty pictures.

  2. Goodness, you've certainly had your fair share and more in a short time. There is another Alberta Clipper heading here on Sunday. I'm not looking forward to it.

  3. I remember the last few years we had our house, constantly shoveling the Sidewalks and Driveway. Since we've been in the apartment, it has been much less.
The Weather Guessers are forecasting milder days, some with Rain. Put that on top of the snow, it could become hazardous rather quickly.
Stay Safe and Enjoy the changing scenery.

    It's about time.

  4. Down here I find it both difficult to imagine and amazing to see all that snow right at your door. But beautiful skies are a lovely backdrop for bare branches.

  5. Looking very wintery over your way. Always looks better with blue sky.

  6. It makes such a difference when the sun comes out doesn’t it? Are your local ash trees suffering from sudden ash die back? We are losing a lot. They are such tall trees you can’t just leave them, especially now we have so many storms. Currently suffering Storm Darragh. Very bad in Wales, lots less bad but still very windy here in London.

  8. I agree about the blue sky and sunshine - it makes the snow and cold easier to bear.
