More Fall Colours

I'm enjoying playing around with my fall colour shots this year.  After all, it's the most colourful time of year here.  So today is a quizz to see which pictures you prefer in a number of choices.  Of course you don't have to answer at all, you can just enjoy the photos.  Believe it or not, these are all shot outside our back window.  The leaves seem to be hanging on a long time this year.

#1 or #2?

#3 or #4?

And the rest are just close-ups for you to enjoy.
I do feel that using my big camera is allowing me to crop on for some much better close-ups.
As I said the leaves are holding on for a long time this year.  Here's the big tree out back (first two photos above) last year at this time.

Nice slightly warmish day here today, though with a cold wind blowing.  I'm going to dress up and go out to sit in the sun regardless!  Can't just be a wimp.

  1. Well I'm probably going to get a failing grade on your quiz since I prefer the last of the close-ups. However of the actual questions my favorite is #1 and then #3. Beautiful colors, our maples both sugar and red have essentially lost all their leaves.

  2. I'm with Woody, #1 and #3 of the choices. The fence post in the second photo was a bit of a distraction, and I like how the house in the background is framed in the third photo.

But my fave of all is the fifth. Of course I have to be different.

  3. I might think of many words to describe you. Wimp would not be one of them.

  4. I love the pretty colors of your leaves. Numbers 1 and 4 are my faves, for no reason other than they are delightful. :-)

  5. My favourite is #2. I'm pretty sure I'm done taking fall shots, but this morning a particular tree had me reconsidering. Maybe tomorrow.

  10. I like 1 & #3 but they are all beautiful! It was a wonderful warm day here out on our deck which faces south and made it up to 17.5˚C this afternoon. I sat out and read! Even warmer weather tomorrow to come!

  11. #2 and #4, my choices today, just like going to the optometrist when he puts different lenses in front of one eye , while you wear the big ugly goggle type glasses, at my last visit it was hard to tell which was better sometimes. Those views out of your window are so beautiful, here I have a street at the front, fences either side and a tall one at the back, and power and telephone lines. Really HOT here, about , well exactly 24.7 C in the verandah, too hot to be in the sun right now.

  16. #1 and #3 were my favorite photos. But the other ones are good too, even other ones below. I like the colors of the leaves. They do look different when I am wearing sunglasses. More vibrant colors but that's ok! Maybe I should try to take a photo of a leaf through my sunglass's lens? HA! Have a good week~Becky

  17. I think 2 is a better composition that 1, which is essentially just colour. It's not a bad thing, but you asked for preferences.

4 over 3: I can see a complete setting. It seems balanced, and the trees make a nice frame over the table. The leaves and table also form a triangle, which is a strong element. You could perhaps crop a little off the right to end with the colour and not go into the green. Not sure of that though.

Of the close-ups, although you didn't ask, the first has a shape, again a triangle.

  18. I like #1 & 3. I have found the leaves are not falling as quickly as other years. We still have some trees that are mostly green.
