Covid!

I escaped it for a long time.  But 12 days ago I headed for emerg at out small local hospital, and it only took one swab for them to admit me with Covid.  I hope you noticed I've been missing in action for 12 days now.  I wouldn't wish this on anyone!  The first day wasn't bad, but days 2 and 3 were horrible!  I was in hospital, in isolation, for a week and have been home now for another 5 days, so I'm on day 12 and no longer infectious.

To make it even worse, Mrs. F.G. caught it at the same time, though her case seems to have been musch milder.  Still, once I was home guess who was my caregiver!

I came home to our continuing colourful garden; here are a few pictures.

Nasturtiums

Bright red Zinnia

Butterfly Weed

Yellow coneflowers

Liatris

Another volunteer sunflower

The view from the deck.

I'm so glad we have a small local hospital only 3 blocks away.  That makes a huge difference for us, as does our colourful garden where I can sit out every morning!

  1. I had noticed you hadn't been around. I'm happy you were able to get care so quickly and close to home, and hopefully fully recovered.
You have a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the beauty around you. Take care.

  2. I assumed that you were busy and were out& about. I'm glad you are on the mend. You & Mrs FG did not need that to happen. Enjoy that lovely garden.

  4. I'm sorry you were so ill with Covid and even had to be hospitalized. I've heard that some feel a lack of energy for weeks afterwards. Both myself and DH were lucky and got very mild cases.
I don't think I've heard of Butterfly Weed. It's a very striking shade of orange isn't it!!

  13. People tend to dismiss C these days, but it’s not exactly a jolly time for most people. It must be wonderful to get back to the flowers.

  16. It's very good to see you back, figured something was amiss when you were gone so long. While you may have had several miserable days, those certainly are better than what might have been. The garden is beautiful, as are the individual plants -- enjoy, enjoy.

  18. Yes, I too had noticed your absence and sensed that something may be amiss. A scary time for both of you and I hope you do not have to go through that again. Great flower photos.
