It happened after breakfast, when I thought I might try and be helpful. We had almost finished the box of Cheerios so I thought I'd get the next one open and ready for tomorrow. Little did I think I'd make a mess of it. I got the box open ok, but then the box tipped forward and half the Cheerios spilled out onto the floor! What a mess, and I was helpless.
I had to call Mrs. F.G. who laughed, took a picture or two for posterity, and then went to get a broom. We were still digging individual Cheerios out from under my feet at physio after lunch!
I do things all of the time. Sue shakes her head and says, "Buppa's in the kitchen." (Buppa is what the grandkids call me, and often Sue and daughter too.)
ReplyDeleteOh dear (she says with a smile) packaging and opening of it does not always go according to plan :)
ReplyDeleteMy good wishes to you both.
All the best Jan
Well, your intention was really stellar! And I smiled to think you will be finding renegade Cheerios for quite awhile, I'll bet! :-)
ReplyDeleteSorry but I just had to laugh out loud. :). I've done that before!!!
ReplyDeleteSo Long, farewell and so on, no need to hang your head, your name isn't Tom Dooley !!!.On a side thought, what is the width between your kitchen counters? Might be helpful for our family down south to know if it works well for you.
ReplyDeleteI bet the air was a bit blue as it was happening. You look so sad. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGreat story. Good that you could see the humor.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the Mess Makers' Club; as a charter member I can say you qualify for membership. However. I assume you made enough of a mess at some point in the past to have qualified earlier, but hesitated to apply due to embarrassment -- that's too bad, because we're a fun group.
ReplyDeleteWell I say old chap....Cheerio then:))
ReplyDeleteIt's even worse when it happens with a can of coffee! If that's the worst thing that happens this week you're in good shape!
ReplyDeleteOops! At least it wasn't something wet and sticky. :)
ReplyDeleteWe need a good laugh every now and then, FG,
ReplyDeleteIt happens to a lot of us. I end up spilling things right after the floor has been cleaned and scrubbed. I remember when my late wife was involved in spilling her mom's cherry pie on the floor upside down. She cried and got a spoon to eat up some of it.
ReplyDeleteOops!
ReplyDeleteOh dear. We've had the dropsies here. Silly things happening!
ReplyDeleteThere are worse things you can spill.
