Back to the Garden - Daylilies First

We've been to Achy Back Farm, the Sunflower Farm, and watched the sailboats downtown while being very busy with other things too.  I've hardly had time to blog, but it's time to go back to the garden.  The daylilies have been blooming steadily, in a range of colours and forms.

One of my favourites, a deep pirple.

Getting photos from a wheelchair is often a challenge.  Flowers bloom facing the opposite direction, or behind other flowers.  Sometimes a side view is all I can get.

As you know, I like the bright ones like this red one best.

A jumble of orangey-yellow blooms.

A very pale yellow bloom, facing the right direction!

A bright yellow bloom, with very narrow petals.

Love this bright orange and red one.

And very bright yellow.

The deepest purple one we have.  And that's my report on the two-week old Daylilies.

  1. So beautiful, FG. And lasting quite well! I have one that is pale yellow, then as it matures it takes on a pale pink/apricot shade, especially down in the throat. So lovely, and a later bloomer than most.
I have a deep purple-red one too, very striking. And one little lemon lily that for some reason continues to bloom, but on one-inch tall stalks! So the flowers are at ground level. It never did this before. Very odd.

  3. Bright deep colours that shine, the close ups show all that delicate detail in the centres.

  4. That’s a great assortment. I think I like the first and last best. I wonder if I more drawn by the purple colour of the two tones.

  5. Your Daylilies are so lovely. I'm afraid our heat has shortened the bloom time of ours here. Maybe if I had watered more?

  7. Sometimes a side view is better! We all get face on pictures, yours are original that way. Oh, I do love the last one best.

  8. Our daylilies are all orange and have been going mad for a couple of weeks too.
The purple one is spectacular! Though I like bright colours too, the pale yellow one is just lovely.
