We woke to a few more inches of the white stuff, and the big snowblower was here before 9 this morning. We and several others of the street pay for this snowblowing service. This tractor was blowing the snow out 30 feet across our front lawn! We also pay extra to have our sidewalk shovelled. Winter is really here.
Here it comes - photo shot through a screened window.I don't know what we'd do without a service like this, although there are several ambitious men on the street (all over 80 I think), who blow out their own driveways.
Half an hour later and I'm looking out the back window at a landscape of bright sunshine!
The winter shadows are back. There'd be more except for the four big White Ash trees removed last fall.

We haven't as much snow here but it is bitterly cold today. It truly is winter!!
ReplyDeleteThat snow blower on a tractor is definitely the way to go for a lot of heavy blowing. Love the shadows, and your last photo, shades of blue and grey. No, not the " 50 shades". do try and keep warm and stay off that road/street/ highway.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the chair with the snow on it.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good service, worth paying for. Here, it's up to us, and since he bought this diesel tractor it has not been easy, as it is almost impossible to start a diesel in cold weather. U less you have something called glow plugs, and he doesnt seem to know if he does or not! Very frustrating. Last winter he burned up all the wiring, the alternator and the battery trying to start it. Very expensive mistake. Can you tell i hate this tractor?
ReplyDeleteYes, your winter is here!
ReplyDeleteLovely to see your photographs and I especially like the snow-covered red chair.
All the best Jan
Right now I prefer your snow to our rain.
ReplyDeleteI haven't taken our blower guy yet this year. He tends to come in the middle of the night. More is predicted tomorrow, but not enough for the contractor to come. We can push light falls ourselves.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, yes the red chair. Here in western Washington it has been 62 degrees during the day, and RAIN RAIN RAIN. Farmers with dairy/beef herds are having the cattle trucked to other dry locations or they would drown, first time this has happened. It's too warm here. State resources are helping, federal government not helping. Farmers are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars and land. Stay the course Canada, don't give in to USA "stupid". Wow, I love your photos, FG ... calms me down. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWe are almost fifty degrees F overnight, with so much rain I can't believe it. Weird weather, eh?
ReplyDeleteYes, winter is definitely here to stay. I wonder what the crocuses and daffodils are doing right now.
ReplyDeleteService like that is a valuable resource for sure. It's a booming business for them too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the faraway snow pictures.
That's a great service because that looks like a lot of snow to me. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteoooooh it looks so pretty, we are suppose to get 4 inches tonight, fingers crossed. it's great that you have snow removal covered, my husband is still doing ours and i think it is time to hire someone!! these pictures are so familiar to me....like i have seen these captures in previous years?!?! hahahaha
ReplyDeleteI really like your fun winter snow shots. I have a small snow blower and it works good with only certain kinds of snow. I used mime today and got to be so chilled.
ReplyDeleteI always think I would love to live where it snowed, but then I read about all the hard work that comes with it and I'm cured! Beautiful winter wonderland pictures. Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe have a long driveway which hubby used to clear on his own. Now we have someone who plows it. There is still a lot to clear away from doors and steps. Winter has arrived indeed.
ReplyDeleteThe view out your back window is very nice.
