Halfway between Owen Sound and Meaford on the south side of the highway, sits an farm outlet for organic veggies. It's run by a couple we have got to know quite well; we stop there regularly at this time of year to buy garlic, beans, peas and other veggies. Not tomatoes so much as Mrs. F.G. grows her own. We highly recommend it if you're into local food. I don't usually repeat posts, but at this time of year this one is worth it!
There's a sign on the highway just east of Keefer Creek valley to entice you in their laneway, and another directing you to the table of veggies.
Here everything gets planted, watered and picked by hand. Weekends you have to be there early to get your choice.
What a fabulous farm, the produce looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Everything looks so good. Cute name!! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great source for stuff you don't grow. We visit the Mennonite farms in the area for that reason. it is 'Achy Back Acres' here also, every time I have to pick over the bean patch!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely table of veggies!
ReplyDeleteGood looking veggies.
ReplyDeleteVeges galore, lovely punnets full of more goodies, I would go there if I lived closer, just a tad too far at the moment. When the porcine population take to the heavens, It might be time for me.
ReplyDeleteThose veggies look better than anything in the stores. Like the name.
ReplyDeleteStay Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Oh yum, gotta find me a farmer here!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all your kind words! We are so happy to have met you, and love to see you and Mrs. F. G. drive in to see us!
ReplyDeleteI see that Achy Acres approves of your post. I am glad that they have seen it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous name!
ReplyDeleteI sure wished I'd like veggies more.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great farm stand! Wish we had a few more around here.
