Ten years ago when I was doing all my photography with a big Nikon camera, I was playing around with light painting, a technique where you move the camera when getting the shot. Seems appropriate for having a little fun at Christmas, so Merry Christmas!
This is the tree I was trying to get a picture of. And below are the light painting results. If you're interested, all these were taken on a manual setting, between 1/2 and 1 second exposure, with the lowest ISO setting at 100, and just moved by hand. I have no idea how you would do this with a cellphone camera!May all of you enjoy peace and love at this Christmas time.

Our local FB group had an ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) Challenge, but I didn't do very well using my phone. For some tasks you need a proper camera, and you used yours well. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThese are fun! I did this 'technique' by accident around our campfire one summer and we were all enthralled at the finished photo!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Have a wonderful Christmas, FG!
ReplyDeleteFun photos. Wishing you a very merry and blessed Christmas.
ReplyDeleteTo you both, Greetings for the end of 2025 and wishes for 2026 to bring fine days, when you and your trusty chariot or chauffeur can get out and about again. Christmas Wishes from down here,
ReplyDeleteBest Christmas wishes to you too Nancy, and all the best for 2026.
DeleteHow cool! These are really intriguing especially knowing you did them intentionally. I did this once by accident, taking a photo from a hotel room in Little Rock. I had no idea this kind of result had a name.
ReplyDeletelike that second photo, really pretty! I hope this new year brings you much joy.
ReplyDeleteI hope that you had a happy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLovely! Hope you had a great day.
ReplyDeleteInteresting technique. Perhaps I'll try it with multicolored lights.
ReplyDeleteThat was fun. Playing with the different settings on my camera never ended up with anything like this. I might have to try again. Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteInteresting pictures!
ReplyDeleteHope you both had a nice Christmas and wishing you a prosperous New Year!
Merry Christmas! I spent Christmas Day with 12 members of the same family who have been friends with my family since the grandfathers used to commute into London together many, many years ago. And there was a Buddhist monk (very nice) too. The little boys scream so piercingly when having fun that you might suppose they could only be heard by Alsatians. But apparently I can hear them too. I am struggling to write as a rather nervous dog is frightened by loud grandchildren in the kitchen and she’s clinging to my lap. Still, a whole lot more fun than Christmas on my own. Best wishes to you and Mrs FG for the coming year x
ReplyDeleteCertainly made for some interesting pictures.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you had a nice Christmas.
It's now the last weekend of 2025! Goodness the year has flown by!
All the best Jan
Oh the fun times and creativness of the old 35mm cameras.
