After I get to the library or the harbour, it's an equally interesting ride back home, at least for me. Sometimes I think I have to be interested in every little thing, since this is the extent of my world these days. It makes the longer drives we go on so much more important and special.
After passing the town hall and the thrift shop in the old church, we find more interesting old houses. This is the first one, a unique style architecturally.I'm skipping a few blocks now, but before I go back up the Collingwood Street hill I pass the local curling club.
Then we're back at that ancient Nipissing shoreline, represented by the abrupt hill I have to drive up, and this forested slope off to the south.
I enjoyed many things and certainly the sky in the final photo.
ReplyDeleteI love that round tower. You get to see things of beauty that most people pass without really looking at it.
ReplyDeleteThose old Victorian-era houses are so interesting and picturesque.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I did enjoy seeing a bit of your world.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
The Last photo has some great clouds.
ReplyDeleteThe old homes in towns always have me scrambling for my camera and twisting my head for a better view. You have the advantage there as you can go much slower or come to a stop much easier than me in a vehicle. Seeing the positive, like you! Love your jaunts, thank you!
ReplyDeleteSome beautiful homes there and that magnolia…gorgeous. The sky in the last photo is a great capture!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy joining you on your excursions. Thank you for the beautiful pictures as well!
ReplyDeleteI've always been intrigued by homes with turrets/towers. I always think some space in one would make a perfect library or reading room. My goodness, that magnolia tree is incredible!
ReplyDeletethis was lovely and i quite enjoyed it!! the tulip magnolia is so pretty, with the blanket below it!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your world very much. Your posts made me realize how limited your world necessarily has to be. My brother John is also a paraplegic, and I never really considered the impact on getting out and about. Paying attention to little things....well, isn't that what we are told to do these days, to be mindful? I try, but i wonder about how different it would be for me to have my scope as limited as yours. Would I adjust gracefully, or would I rage and sulk about my bad luck?
ReplyDeleteI like old homes and the one in the second photo is a nice one. The first one is very different.
ReplyDeleteThe clouds in that last picture is amazing.
You have some amazingly beautiful architecture to peruse on your journeys. Makes me want to come over and check it out! That magnolia tree reminds me of the by-yearly blossom drop off our old crab-apple tree.
