He said that harvesting from ladders caused a loss of 10% of the fruit for each step the picker was up a ladder -- due to bruising and dropping. If he was right it makes a lot of sense to go low.Woody Meristemhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17042498252608254901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1315509519261683441.post-48680399758192348912014-09-25T11:21:07.457-04:002014-09-25T11:21:07.457-04:00I haven't seen any of those kind here yet. Although espaliered fruit trees is really a very old method of producing accessible increased fruit, it's interesting to see it used commercially.Sharkbyteshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10139935335209860357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1315509519261683441.post-13328469911074589582014-09-25T09:12:26.717-04:002014-09-25T09:12:26.717-04:00Wow - amazing photos. Most of the apples in Washington are grown across the mountains in the central part of the state. We haven't been over there for a long time and probably there are many orchards like that over there now too.JoAnn ( Scene Through My Eyes)https://www.blogger.com/profile/12621061028973446378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1315509519261683441.post-83490658450232527592014-09-24T00:04:13.095-04:002014-09-24T00:04:13.095-04:00Beautiful Orchard! I hope you don't mind if I share this with him. I'm sure he knows all about it but it's nice to see such a great crop on these trees and will encourage him. I haven't heard of this variety of apple but they sure look good.Pamela Gordonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18071092617682650349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1315509519261683441.post-88040864936312909952014-09-23T20:47:18.576-04:002014-09-23T20:47:18.576-04:00That's a tremendous amount of work! That's a tremendous amount of work!William Kendallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00331324250821836822noreply@blogger.com
